Student bursaries

We offer a variety of additional funding opportunities to encourage and support engaged students, passionate about their subject area, to maximise their potential and study at SRUC.
Here we have listed the bursaries, awards and scholarships offered at SRUC. Some may be only offered to new applicants, some only to current students. Please be sure to check the eligibility criteria in each case.

Rest of UK bursary
Who can apply? Students whose fee status has been identified as 'Rest of UK or Ireland' (England, Wales, Northern Ireland, Republic of Ireland and Channel Islands, Isle of Man).
Bursary award: Reduction in tuition fees and assistance with travel to Open Day and Applicant Days.

Change Your Path bursary
Who can apply? Prospective offer-holding students who are aged 25 or over and are career-changing.
Bursary award: Up to £1,000 to help with your studies.

Natural Leader prize
Who can apply? Students and offer-holders who are aged under 25 and who have demonstrated a real passion for the natural economy and sustainability – we aim to encourage and award future leaders.
Bursary award: A cash prize of £500

Further Education bursary
Who can apply: Those studying a Further Education (college level) course at SRUC.
Bursary award: Assistance with living and travel costs, along with course expenses (if applicable). The Bursary Fund is cash limited and students are advised to apply as soon as possible.
Those eligible to apply will receive information from the Funding Team.

Going Further bursary
Who can apply? Existing, progressing SRUC students going from one level of a course to the next.
Bursary award: This is a discretionary award based on application. Not all applications are successful.
Eligible students will be sent further information.

Centenary bursary
Who can apply? Existing SRUC Higher Education students who are self-funding.
Bursary award: A discretionary award based on application. Not all applications are successful.
Eligible students can apply by filling out this form.

The Fairweather Bursary
Who can apply: Students who are experiencing financial hardship.
Bursary award: £5,000 per year.

The Gregor Thomas Royan Lamb bursary for future farmers
Who can apply: Students embarking on an Agriculture HN or undergraduate degree course, with priority given to those who are not from a farming background but are new entrants into the industry.
Bursary award: up to £2,000 paid over two years to successful applicants who are achieving a satisfactory standard in their studies.
