SRUC Health Scheme Testing & Inspections: Premium Sheep and Goat Health Schemes

Flock/Herd Testing

Please note that throughout the Covid-19 crisis we continue to supply our members with the necessary paperwork for any tests due under the PSGHS and a note that you may not be able to have the animals tested at this difficult time. Please keep the paperwork until testing can be undertaken. However, if your vet practice is willing to undertake the sampling for these herds/flocks we can test the samples.

Please go ahead with testing where you and your vet feel able to.  Occasionally the standard turnaround time may be exceeded but on the whole we are open for business and meeting turnaround times. The official 3-month period for catching up on missed tests has not yet begun. We will make it clear when this starts.

Inspections

Every year a proportion of our PSGHS membership is inspected by a team of Independent Inspectors to check that rules are being complied with. Hallmark will be making appointments for these farm visits this year. We appreciate that you may not be in a position to accept a visit at the moment due to the complications of Covid-19 and social distancing. However, you will have the option to arrange a date later in the year to suit yourself and the inspector.  These inspections form an important part of our service. Thank you in advance for your help with this.

We also have a regularly updated Covid-19 page for Veterinary Services.
