BSc (Hons) Agriculture

Nicola graduated SRUC in 2014 with a BA (Hons) Rural Business Management. After spending two years as an Agricultural Officer at the Scottish Government Rural Payments and Inspections Directorate (SGRPID), she returned to SRUC as an Agricultural lecturer at our Edinburgh campus in 2017.

Nicola’s family have a beef and sheep farm on the Isle of Mull. She loves getting out on the farm both at home and the college. When teaching, Nicola's passionate about making sure students are also getting as much hands-on practical experience as possible when studying Agriculture at SRUC. 

Craig is a former student of Agriculture at our Aberdeen campus. He absolutely loved living on the estate and having the farms, woodland, and all the amenities at his fingertips. 

Now based in the Edinburgh Kings Buildings, Craig lectures across our agriculture courses. He’s passionate about interactive, hands-on teaching and loves showing people with little agriculture background where food comes from as well as busting the many myths surrounding agriculture and food production.

John has always had an interest in and passion for ecology and natural history, particularly in mountain environments.  His main research interests are in upland ecosystem services, hill grasslands, agri-environmental management, and farm woodlands and agroforestry.

A guest lecturer for various undergraduate and postgraduate courses, John lectures at the Riverside and Edinburgh campuses and to visiting students at the SRUC farm.

Davy is Head of our Integrated Land Management Department and Hill & Mountain Research Centre. Based out of SRUC Auchincruive, he regularly visits teams across multiple campuses.

For more than 30 years Davy has worked on farming and wildlife interactions at a European, UK and Scottish level. He is passionate about the essential role hill farmers and crofters have to play in helping to address the ongoing climate emergency and biodiversity crisis.

After graduating with a BSc (Hons) in Agriculture in 2018 Wallace decided to further his knowledge in global food production with a MSc in Food Security at Glasgow University, which he completed in 2019. Wanting to gain experience in sales and management he took up a role as management trainee at Enterprise Rent-A-Car.

In his free time you will find him working alongside RHET, showing sheep at his local show and working on Rural2Kitchen, his Facebook page that aims to teach the public about food production, sourcing local and introduce you to the people in the sector through his R2Kast podcast.

He believes in integrating practical and theory together to form a ‘big picture’ before focussing in on the theory to really get down to the crux of the matter at hand.
