The Job:

Due to continued growth, we are looking for two highly motivated individuals to join our small but dedicated team. As the successful candidate, you will be required to carry out a variety of manual tasks around the estate to assist in the day-to-day running of the business.

The Company:

Part of the Fred. Olsen Ltd group of companies since 1952, Forrest Estate is a 4300 hectare estate in St Johns Town of Dalry, Castle Douglas. The concept is to create a long-term commercial forest while enhancing rural employment. Over the years there has been significant investment with diversification into hydro-electric power, tourism field sports and importantly the development of Natural Power, expert consultants to the international renewable energy industry.

The Candidate:

  • You will be a strong communicator across all levels and flexible in your approach to getting the job done.
  • You will be a team player, keen to play your part and encourage others to do the same.
  • Given the nature and location of the role, you will need to have a full, clean Driving Licence and have access to your own transport.
  • Previous experience within forestry, agriculture or construction is a minimum requirement.
  • We would be especially interested to hear from candidates with the following licenses/experience: Chainsaw operations Spraying Planting Brushcutters Industrial mowers 4x4’s ATV’s UTV’s Tractor Drivers Excavator Drivers - Rough terrain/Agricultural Engineering/Forestry Engineering Road Workers Plant fitters.
  • Full training will be given to the successful candidate and remuneration will be based on skills and experience.
