The Job:

The Rural Payments and Inspection Division teams of professional agricultural, customer service and administrative staff are based in a network of 17 offices located around rural Scotland. These teams manage the implementation of agricultural, environmental and rural policies, process applications for funding and provide high quality customer service.

Agricultural Officers perform a key role in the work of the Division and are often a key point of contact for farmers, crofters and the rural community. They are engaged in a wide variety of duties, many of an outdoor nature, including visits to farms to carry out inspections. The role of the Agricultural Officer includes carrying out site visits to various types of agricultural establishments, often over extensive and difficult terrain and in all weather conditions. Experience of crossing this type of land and a willingness to undertake these visits are prerequisites for the post. Applicants should also be able to demonstrate practical experience of handling livestock.

- Experience
Previous practical experience of working in agriculture or land management practices and the ability to demonstrate an understanding of farming practices in Scotland.
Demonstrate a knowledge of the schemes and support that RPID have available to help the farming sector.
