Animal Transportation Short Journey - Assessment

This assessment allows you to apply for a Certificate of Competence required for people involved in the movement of animals over 65km (40 miles) and less than eight hours in duration. The Certificate is endorsed against one or more categories (sheep, cattle, pigs, horses, goats...), and meets the EU Regulation and Welfare of Animals (Transport) (Scotland) Order 2006.

You can book this course for any of the following assessment types:

• Cattle
• Cattle & Sheep
• Game birds
• Goats
• Horses
• Pigs
• Poultry
• Sheep

If you want to book more than one assessment type for the same day, please be in touch with us directly so we can process your booking correctly. 

Please note that all NPTC courses / assessments require a separate Registration Form to be submitted at least 5 working days prior to start date.  Please ensure when booking that there is sufficient time for this process.  You will be sent a copy of the Registration Form on receipt of your booking.

The assessment takes place on a computer, and you are required to answer 27 multiple choice questions. The minimum satisfactory score to pass is 21 marks. There are no formal entry requirements for this course.

Cancellations:

Cancellations must be made at least 10 working days prior to the course start date otherwise the full course fee is still payable. In the event that SRUC has to cancel a course for any reason your course fees will be refunded in full or your booking transferred to the next available date if this is suitable.
