I am a Ruminant Nutritionist and part of the livestock team at SAC Consulting. I studied Veterinary Bioscience at the University of Glasgow and joined SAC in 2015 as a trainee ruminant nutritionist. I also have a Postgraduate Cert in Sustainable and Efficient food production from Aberystwyth University focused on ruminant nutrition.

My primary interest is beef and sheep rationing and supporting our SAC offices across Scotland and North England. I provide rationing services using Dietcheck software and am involved in providing nutritional advice and training to a variety of audiences including students, farmers, crofters, vets and consultants. I also deliver lectures to undergraduate and master’s students in practical ruminant nutrition, rationing and how to translate science on farm. I really enjoy working alongside our researchers at SRUC to deliver practical solutions to challenges that face the beef and sheep industry. I love a proactive approach to nutrition and helping farmers to make improvements to their system, particularly using data to drive decision making and improving precision in rationing.

I am based in Belfast, Northern Ireland and mostly work remotely for SAC Consulting or from the Edinburgh Technopole. Outside of work I enjoy keeping fit by going walking in the countryside, horse-riding and chasing after my toddler.
