SRUC is a specialist, land-based institution with a vision to be the leader for innovation and sustainable development in the rural sector, with expertise in a wide range of subject areas which feed in to the sustainability agenda.
Sustainability, conservation and protecting the environment are now of prime importance.
With ever increasing demands on our natural resources from recreation, conservation and energy generation, as well as the impacts of traditional land uses such as agriculture and forestry, there’s a clear need for graduates with a broad understanding of the relevant issues, and the growing range of careers open to them.
BSc (Hons) Sustainable Food Production & Land Use is an applied biology degree that considers how land use practices can help to tackle today’s critical challenges of climate change, biodiversity and food security.
