Soils & environment
Leading the development of new approaches to measuring and mitigating greenhouse gases from agriculture in Scotland and beyond.
At SRUC, we conduct internationally respected, multi- and inter-disciplinary research that seeks to address the major challenges of growing global demand for food and nutrition security, climate change, and dwindling natural resources, with an emphasis on both adaption to and mitigation of the global climate crisis. Core areas of this research include soil health and quality, crop systems and sciences, nutrient management, and integrated pest management.
