Nominations open for SRUC Alumni Entrepreneur Network Awards
Nominations are now open for the SRUC Alumni Entrepreneur Network Awards 2026, celebrating the outstanding achievements, innovation and impact of former students across a wide range of industries.
The Alumni Entrepreneur Network Awards highlight individuals and businesses that are shaping the future through innovation, sustainability and enterprise. Judging takes place in June with winners selected by an independent panel.
Nominations are invited across five categories:
- Environmental Sustainability.
- Diversification.
- New Entrant.
- Innovation.
- Alumni Champion.
The awards shine a spotlight on alumni who are making a meaningful contribution in their sectors and communities.
Alumni Relations Officer Julie Robinson said: "We are immensely proud of our alumni and the groundbreaking work they continue to deliver across industries and communities. The Alumni Entrepreneur Network Awards recognise and celebrate these achievements while inspiring the next generation of entrepreneurial thinking.”
Last year’s winners exemplify the spirit of the awards.
The Environmental Sustainability Award 2025 was awarded to John Ferguson, founder of Sisaltech for developing Sisalwool, a low-carbon insulation material made from natural and recycled fibres, supporting the circular economy and sustainable construction.
The Diversification Award 2025 went to Craigie’s Farm, led by John and George Sinclair for transforming a traditional family farm into a leading agritourism destination, welcoming over 260,000 annually.
The Innovation Award 2025 was presented to Ben Oakes of the Isle of Skye Seaweed Company, recognised for creating sustainable skincare products using responsibly harvested seaweed and combining traditional practices with modern innovation.

The deadline for nominations is 31 May.
