This online SRUC certificate is designed to de-mystify some of the terms and jargon used in the field of veterinary medicine. It's ideal for those wanting to progress into studying animal care or veterinary nursing.
Who the course is for:
This course is available to S5 & S6 students wishing to embark on a career in the animal care or veterinary care sector and is strongly recommended to anyone wishing to progress to a veterinary nursing qualification. Applicants are required to have achieved N5 English (Grade A-C) or be undertaking and expected to achieve by the end of S4.
Duration:
This course is designed to be completed over one academic year with 3-5 hours of self-directed study per week.
Delivery:
This distance-learning course is delivered through a series of online units that consist of reading information, interactive activities and final assessments. There are no formal exams. Students are also assigned a personal tutor available by phone or email for mentorship throughout the course.
Qualification:
Students completing this course will be awarded an SRUC Certificate comparable to SCQF Level 6.
