Update on SRUC's presence at Crichton Royal Farm

Following the consolidation of SRUC’s academic dairying activities at our Barony Campus, we will be withdrawing as tenants from Crichton Royal Farm at the end of 2026, but we will continue to support the local dairy industry through our work at Barony, which is now a collaborative hub of dairy research and innovation, and at Acrehead, where we created a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity for a young dairy farmer.

It has been our pleasure to have been the custodians of Crichton Royal Farm for over 50 years, during which time we have led the way in international dairy research. Crichton was also historically home to the award-winning Langhill Herd, which is now based at Barony. To allow us to leave Crichton in the best possible condition, we will be holding an online auction of surplus items. The auction will be held from 26 October - 2 November through Thainstone Specialist Auctions.
