A shepherd is required to form part of a team in running the sheep flock on a hill farming and sporting estate within the Cairngorms National Park.

The Candidate:

  • The business runs a flock of 1900 blackface ewes, alongside a herd of 50 suckler cows, with a further 600 or so wethers running the hill. You will report to the Head Shepherd and be responsible for all aspects of hill flock management, as well as assisting with general farm and estate work.
  • Good working dogs and a full UK driving license are essential. Salary will be subject to experience. A 2-bedroom house will be provided on the estate, which is convenient for the local primary school in Tomintoul and feeds into the well respected Speyside High School.
