The Job:

We are offering an exciting and unique one-year industry placement programme with one of McDonald's long-term strategic supplier partners for students looking to gain practical experience across our food supply chain, from farm to front counter.

Through a combination of professional development, hands-on learning and industry exposure, you will build the knowledge, skills and practical experience needed to understand how one of the world's leading food supply chains operates. No two placements are the same, giving you the opportunity to explore different areas of the business and develop experience aligned to your interests and career aspirations.

This role is specifically designed for full-time undergraduate students in the UK or Ireland who are undertaking a placement year as part of their degree programme.

The Placement:

  • Join one of McDonald's strategic supplier partners for a full year.
  • Rotate through multiple areas of McDonald's unique supply chain, from farm to front counter.
  • Gain hands-on experience working with supplier agriculture teams and industry experts.
  • Deliver meaningful projects focused on key priorities such as sustainability, innovation and technical efficiency.
  • Visit other key supplier partners to gain insight into a variety of agricultural operations and supply chain functions.
  • Spend time as a crew member in one of our restaurants, developing a deeper understanding of the customer experience and wider business.
  • Represent McDonald's and its supplier network as an ambassador at industry events, conferences and networking opportunities.

The Candidate:

We are looking for passionate, curious, self-motivated and driven undergraduates with the ability to join a fast-paced team within the McDonald’s supply base for their year in industry.

  • Students from all degree disciplines and backgrounds are encouraged to apply, agricultural background is not essential as diverse perspectives strengthen our industry.
  • A passion for food, farming, or the supply chain, along with the ability to work both independently and as part of a team, is essential. However, candidates must have a willingness to learn more about a career within the food supply chain or farming.
  • Applicants must; hold a full UK or Irish drivers license, be willing to re-locate and/ or travel, be currently undertaking full-time third level education, and have the right to work in the UK & Ireland.
