* Additional information for HE undergraduate programmes

Scottish & RUK Students studying BVSci course:

A deposit of £2,000 of the fee must be paid in advance and an unconditional offer cannot be made until this payment has been received. If you are unable to subsequently start the course the deposit will be refunded except for £500 which will be retained by the College to cover administration costs.

 

RUK students studying any full-time undergraduate course:

All RUK Students who have paid the equivalent of full time RUK fees to SRUC for three years since 23/24 will be entitled to their Honours (SCQF level 10) year being free from a fees payment. RUK students who join SRUC at year 3 will be liable to pay RUK fees for all years they are registered SRUC students. Note this does not apply to RUK students studying the Bachelor of Veterinary Science (BVSci).

** Additional information for HE postgraduate diploma, MRes & MSc Project programmes

Fees are for full programme and will be invoiced each year, pro rata of full programme cost.

Bench fees may be payable for an MRes qualification; any fees payable will be confirmed prior to offer.

***Additional information for PhD programmes

An additional bench fee (pro-rata if student studies part time) will be payable on an annual basis, depending upon the nature of the PhD studies. These costs will be made clear at the time that any offer of PhD study at SRUC is made.

PhD tuition fees are set by UKRI for all PhDs across the UK. The cost listed is an estimate and may be subject to change.

**** Additional information for HE part-time studies and individual modules

In addition to the published tuition fees, there is a charge of £25 to cover registration, certification, and administration. This is payable once upon initial registration with SRUC, regardless of the number of modules being taken.

 

The fees for campus based courses will be charged as:

• Less than 50% of the full-time curriculum, considered as short course, charged per module.
• 50% of the full-time curriculum, considered part-time, charged at 50% of the appropriate full-time fee.
• 51% to 99% of the full-time curriculum, considered part-time, charged at part-time fee plus additional module(s) fee.

General information

 

• All students undertaking programmes of study at SRUC are required annually to pay tuition fees, though many students will have this paid for them.
• The tuition fees overleaf are those payable by students for Session 2026/27. Tuition fees are subject to periodic review and are likely to increase for Session 2027/28 and for subsequent years, though students incurring a charge for fees will remain on the fee rate incurred when they commenced their current qualification.
  
• Prior to registration students must either provide satisfactory evidence that they hold a grant or award from which the fees will be paid or pay the fees due (or set up a bank mandate for the payment of the fees).
  
• The tuition fee is for matriculation and enrolment, for tuition and for assessment/examination appropriate to the programme.
  
• No degrees, diplomas, or certificates will be awarded, and no confirmation of achievement, references which refer to achievement, or transcripts will be provided to students where there are outstanding tuition fees or other sums owed to SRUC.
  
• Self-funding students, or their sponsor, will be invoiced between October and January of the Academic Year. For those that require an earlier invoice, please contact Registry@sruc.ac.uk
  
• SRUC has a Student Fees Payment and Debt Management Policy with explanatory guidance for students. Students are required to sign to indicate their adherence to the Policy’s requirements at enrolment each year of study.

Charges & refunds

Tuition fee charges and refunds for students who are not sponsored by SAAS (Scotland), Student Finance England, Wales or Northern Ireland will be processed using the following criteria:

Courses that follow semesters:

• Withdraws within 3 weeks from start of course – no tuition fee payable
  
• Withdraws after week 3 in first semester – fee charged will be 50% of the total tuition fee payable for that academic session
  
• Withdraws in second semester – the full tuition fee for the academic session will be charged
  

Courses that follow terms:

• Withdraws within 3 weeks from start of course – no tuition fee payable
  
• Withdraws after week 3 but within 14 weeks from start of course - fee charged will be 50% of the total tuition fee payable for that academic session
  
• Withdraws after 14 weeks from start of course - the full tuition fee for the academic session will be charged

If the full tuition fee has been paid up front then the student will receive a refund based on the above criteria.

NB if you are a late start, the above terms will apply on the date you start your course.

Note: International students who are eligible for reimbursement of fees will only receive the refund when the visa sponsorship paperwork has been completed and we have obtained information indicating that they have left the country. In cases of fraudulent documentation, falsified information, or deliberate misrepresentation by the student, SRUC reserve the right to withhold any tuition fees already paid, including the deposit.

Students on non-advanced and advanced programmes may be eligible to have their tuition fees paid as part of a bursary (non-advanced programmes) or grant (advanced programmes) by the Student Awards Agency for Scotland (SAAS). In cases where tuition fees are met from SAAS or by means of sponsorship the rate payable is identified as Public Funded in the fees displayed on this website.

 

Rest of UK (RUK) Students

Students on non-advanced and advanced programmes may be eligible to have their tuition fees paid as part of a bursary (non-advanced programmes) or grant (advanced programmes) by Student Finance England, Student Finance Wales or Student Finance Northern Ireland or other Government Departments. If you are unable to subsequently start the course the deposit will be refunded except for £500 which will be retained by the College to cover administration costs.

Additional programme related costs

Students on a number of programmes of study will be expected to cover additional costs relating to their study, for example in terms of Personal Protective Equipment or tools. Details should be made available by Departments on request.

Other miscellaneous costs

• Replacement matriculation card = £15

• Interim or replacement academic transcript = £25
