The Company:
We are a new family run free range layers production business with first class facilities based outside Stewarton. This modern, purpose built site houses more than 60,000 layers and is equipped with advanced automated systems for efficiency and ease of production.
We are committed to ensuring high standards in bird health and welfare. As the poultry egg production is in its infancy we are keen to continue to develop the business and the site over the coming months.
Job description:
Main responsibilities include:
- Monitoring feed, water, lighting and ventilation systems
- Egg collection/grading and record keeping
- Supporting vaccination, biosecurity and health protocols
- Operating and maintaining farm machinery and equipment
- General farm maintenance duties as required e.g. groundworks, repairs, fencing, grass cutting etc.
- Assisting with staff supervision
- Compliance with farm assurance standards.
The Candidate:
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow biosecurity procedures
- Good communication skills and ability to work both independently and as part of a team
- Must be keen to learn and show initiative
- Flexibility to work weekends and assist during busy periods
- Full UK driving licence.
Experience:
- Minimum of 1 year working with poultry layers
- Practical knowledge of poultry welfare, health and production systems
- General farm experience to include operating and maintaining farm machinery and equipment.
