VTEC 2026

Verocytotoxigenic or Shiga toxin-producing E. coli (VTEC / STEC) continues to be a priority pathogen in countries across the world. The triannual VTEC conference series aims to bring the whole community together to share and discuss the latest findings in scientific research and application.

After a highly successful VTEC 2021 and 2023 events hosted by the Canadian organising committee, we are proud to announce that VTEC 2026 is to be held Sunday 10 May to Wednesday 13 May 2026 at the P&J Live state-of-the-art conference venue in Aberdeen, Scotland.

This is an excellent opportunity to network, reinforce the liaisons already in place and help grow new scientific-stakeholder consortia around common research interests. Among the unique setting of Scotland’s beautiful surroundings and rich history, Aberdeen is an ideal environment for VTEC creativity.

Past meetings have been held in Toronto, Edinburgh, Melbourne, Bergamo, Buenos Aires, Amsterdam, Boston, Florence and Banff. Typically, the symposium-based meeting attracts nearly 500 researchers, clinicians and trainees from around the world.
