Interpretation of pooled BVD PCR Testing
This test is validated to detect BVDV RNA in pooled samples from one viraemic animal in a pool of 10 samples. The PCR used will detect the presence of BVDV type 1 and BVDV type 2. Pools that are negative do not have BVDV viraemic animals present.
Where pools are positive each individual sample will be tested for the presence of BVDV by the PCR test.
