This online certificate is designed to demystify some of the terms and jargon used in the field of Veterinary Medicine. The course is beneficial to anyone wanting to embark on a career in the animal care or veterinary sector and is strongly recommended to anyone wanting to pursue a Veterinary Nursing qualification.

The course, offered to those in S4, S5 and S6, is designed to be completed over the course of one academic year, based on 3-5 hours of self-directed study per week. It is delivered by distance learning and can be completed by anyone, irrespective of location.

This course offers an excellent introduction to veterinary care and can act as an important first step on a career ladder. SRUC offers a number of full time courses in Veterinary Nursing subjects for future progression.
