SRUC

This course offering for schools:

The National Progression Award (NPA) Investigation of Modern Agriculture is ideal for anyone who wants to develop their knowledge of the agricultural sector.

This introduction to modern practices in agriculture has been designed for learners with no prior knowledge or experience. It examines the changing face of agriculture today, including the role of technology and precision farming, as well as opportunities for diversification.

The course is designed to be completed over the course of one academic year, based on 3-5 hours of self-directed study per week. It is offered to those in S4, S5 and S6 who are capable of working at SCQF Level 5 and show a keen interest in the subject area.

The majority of the course is delivered online, but it also includes three practical days on a farm or at a local business.

Completion of this programme will provide a useful progression route into a full time agriculture course or apprenticeship.
