Campus-specific careers advice

Our campus-specific Careers Advisers and Programme Leaders offer support with all things ‘careers’, such as finding the best education pathway to achieve your goals and creating a CV that'll get you noticed. Just get in touch with a relevant member of staff and they'll be happy to help.
In addition, we have the careers page on Moodle, student noticeboards and our online teaching platform, which has an abundance of useful information to help you start or continue your career journey.
SRUC Craibstone Estate, Aberdeen
Aberdeen has a dedicated careers adviser to help research and plan your future career or next course choice. They can support you with writing your CV and gaining interview skills. For more information please contact the Faculty Office.
Students on courses validated by the University of Edinburgh can use the University of Edinburgh Career Service, which is located in the main University Library at George Square. There is also a unit of the Careers Service on the King's Buildings Campus, situated in the Weir Building. This is only open during term time.
SRUC Riverside, Ayr
Careers guidance is provided by Elizabeth Martin, Careers Adviser for our Riverside campus. Personal and subject-specific careers advice is provided to each programme by the Careers Adviser and our staff who have knowledge of these industries.
SRUC Barony, Dumfries
As students of Barony Campus you have access to a Careers Adviser through Skills Development Scotland (SDS).
SDS is an All Age guidance service here to promote effective career planning and employability support. We can help if you are uncertain about how to plan your future career path, if you are feeling unsure about the choices you have made and want to know where you can go now or if you would benefit from help in how to start researching your own career ideas.
We can also help with more practical skills like writing CV's and interview skills which can help you make a smoother transition from college into the world of work. To make an appointment with them, please contact the Education Office using the details below and they will organise an appointment for you.
SDS also run My World Of Work, a website that helps you to get up to speed with the job market, search for vacancies, explore training opportunities and find out about other peoples experiences of working and finding work.
SRUC King's Buildings, Edinburgh
Careers guidance is provided by Sarah Young, Careers Adviser for our Edinburgh and Oatridge campuses, Royal Botanic Gardens Edinburgh and Glasgow Botanics. Personal and subject-specific careers advice is provided to each programme by the Careers Adviser and our staff who have knowledge of these industries.
Students are encouraged to use the service of their campus Careers Adviser, although they may use the University of Edinburgh Career Service, if on courses validated by the University of Edinburgh. This is only open during term time.
