Gown hire

All graduating students are reminded that they must hire a gown and hood, the price of which will be £28 - orders cannot be guaranteed unless received at least 21 days before the Ceremony, by 7 August 2023 at the latest.

Gowns will be available for collection on the day in Hunter Hall, Main Building, University of Glasgow.

Some assistance may be available with the cost of gown hire – further information will follow in due course.

Gowns will be available to hire from the Ede and Ravenscroft website from 2 June 2023

Selecting a gown

Log on to the Ede & Ravenscroft website
Select SRUC – drop down will show Scotland’s Rural College – and press continue.
Select Event Details - Glasgow University 28 August 2023 - press continue.
Close the pop-up window about hat size measurement if one appears – you will not need a hat.
Now pick your Level of Award – HNC/HND, Bachelor/Honour Degrees or Masters Degrees - then specify the name of the award.
SQA HNC/HND & General and Honours Degrees are awarded by one of our two partner Universities (Edinburgh or Glasgow) – use the information below to select the correct awarding University for your programme. HNC/HND SQA information is also included below.
- (Edinburgh BSc) BSc or BSc (Hons) Environmental Management = Gown: Black; Hood: Black/mid green/white faux fur
- (Glasgow BA) BA or BA (Hons) Rural Business Management = Gown: Black; Hood: Black/Purple/Red
- (Glasgow BSc) = Gown: Black; Hood: Black/Gold/Red
  - BSc or BSc (Hons) Agriculture
  - BSc or BSc (Hons) Agricultural Bioscience
  - BSc or BSc (Hons) Applied Animal Science
  - BSc or BSc (Hons) Countryside Management

- (Glasgow MSc) = Gown: Black; Hood: Black/Gold

  - MSc Wildlife and Conservation Management
- (Glasgow MRes) MRes Zoonoses and Epidemiology of Animal Infectious Diseases = Gown: Black; Hood: Black, Lined and edged in Gold

- (SQA) HNC = Gown: Black; Hood: Navy/Gold
- (SQA) HND = Gown: Black; Hood: Navy/White
Finally, select your gender, height and chest size and continue through to the ordering process as instructed on the page.
Your gown and hood will be delivered to Glasgow for you to pick up on the day.
