Find out how Scotland is leading the way in the combination of technology and data to help improve efficiency in farming, while exploring the ways in which we can make better use of the tech and information we are generating. Our panel consists of Dr Holly Fergusson, Professor Eileen Wall, and Dr Simon Gibson-Poole. Holly is a precision dairy scientist at SRUC. She uses technology on a daily basis on the farm and has been recently looking at innovative practices to improve resilience in dairy, including an examination of reasons why people might choose to not integrate new technologies. Eileen is an integrative livestock geneticist and Head of Research at SRUC. Her work explores how machines can help us define the characteristics of animals and how we can gather an apply data to improve health and productivity. Simon is a post-doc researcher exploring new ways of applying technology for agricultural and environmental uses.
