SRUC Barony and Oatridge Campuses have been shortlisted for the College Development Network Annual Awards.
Barony has been nominated in the Student Enterprise category, while Oatridge has been selected in the Employer Engagement section.
Barony Campus will compete against Angus College and Perth College UHI in the Student Enterprise category which is awarded to a student or group of students who have been involved in entrepreneurial projects that have made an impact on the college and or the wider community. Barony students devised a newsletter format used by campus students which may be imported to other campuses and even outside the organisation.
Oatridge Campus will be up against Ayrshire College (Kilmarnock Campus) and Dundee College for the Employer Engagement Award which rewards creative approaches taken to enhance employer engagement. Oatridge has been nominated due to its SVQ delivery to up-skill 400 employees along with Telford College, working in partnership with City of Edinburgh Council, trade unions, the Workers’ Educational Association and APSE, the training body.
The College Development Network is an organisation dedicated to helping the sector deliver best practice, share innovations and develop colleges and their staff. The awards recognise the talent, skills and achievement of colleges, their staff and students. They also provide a valuable opportunity to celebrate the outstanding projects and initiatives taking place in colleges the length and breadth of Scotland.
Other categories up for grabs are Learning and Teaching, Sustainability, Health and Wellbeing and Student Contribution.
The winners will be announced in a glittering ceremony in the Radisson Blu Hotel in Glasgow on Thursday 28 November.
