SRUC Poultry PhD student Adekunle Adebiyi, based at Auchincruive and supervised by Dr Oluyinka Olukosi, recently received the Jones-Hamilton Co. Graduate Student Travel Grant Award.
He was one of nine research students to receive the award at the last Poultry Science Association meeting held in San Diego, California.
The Poultry Science Association (PSA) is a professional organisation in the USA, with a membership of approximately 1,300 educators, scientists, extension specialists, administrators, and producers with an interest in advancing the poultry industry.
Adekunle’s name and that of Scotland’s Rural College were included on a list of more than two dozen award winners, many of whom are leaders in the field of poultry science in America and beyond. It is interesting to note that among them were three representatives from Arkansas University. SRUC recently hosted several student interns from Arkansas, including two who worked at the Auchincruive-based Avian Research Centre.
