John Forster SAC Consulting’s man at the end of the Kintyre peninsular was one of those welcoming a visit to Argyle by over 100 members of the Ayrshire Cattle Society.
They held a conference in Campbeltown from 16th to 18th of May and SRUC sponsored a lunch, as well as assisting in a series of farm visits.
Wigtownshire man John, who joined Scotland’s Rural College after a long spell in Cornwall, knew quite a few of the visitors, many of whom has travelled from the southwest of both England and Scotland, as well as Suffolk, the Peak District, Cumbria and close by (to Campbeltown at least) Northern Ireland.
The herds visited were all close to the Campbeltown venue, on farms at Southend, Machriebeg, and Machrihanish, with the weather showing its good side an all but the final day.
