The Scottish Home Pony will return to the Scottish National Equestrian Centre in West Lothian in 2019 and 2020.
Part of Scotland’s Rural College, the Scottish National Equestrian Centre at SRUC’s Oatridge campus is one of the country’s leading equine facilities and hosts numerous events across several disciplines throughout the year.
The four days of action-packed showjumping at the Scottish Home Pony will give some of the best pony riders from across Britain and Ireland the chance to represent their nation in the team events and, for those eligible, to qualify for Horse of the Year show.
Additionally, riders will be looking to claim the coveted individual titles that are also on offer in the Ten Years and Under Championship and Scottish Home Pony Grand Prix, among others.
Professor David Hopkins, Dean of SRUC’s Central Faculty, said: “This year’s Scottish Home Pony was a great success, with more than 200 riders taking part, so we are delighted to announce its return in 2019 and 2020. We look forward to welcoming riders from across the country back to West Lothian for what will be more great events for the whole family to enjoy.”
The Scottish National Equestrian Centre is one of many excellent facilities at SRUC’s Oatridge campus, which supports the wide range of Equine, Veterinary Nursing and Animal Management courses available at SRUC. To find out more about SRUC’s courses, go to www.sruc.ac.uk/study.
