More than 200 show jumpers from across the UK and Ireland recently descended on SRUC’s Oatridge campus in West Lothian for a spectacular four days of action at this year’s Harbro Scottish Home Pony.

Held at the state-of-the-art Scottish National Equestrian Centre, the show was a huge success, with more than 1,100 entries and 700 attendees over the course of the event.

Riders competed to secure a place at the world-famous Horse of the Year Show, which takes place in Birmingham. Members of the Pony Club also had the opportunity to qualify for the London International Horse Show at Olympia.

David Hopkins, Dean of SRUC’s Central Faculty, said: “This year’s Harbro Scottish Home Pony was a great success and I would like to thank the hard-working teams of officials and SRUC staff who made it all possible, as well as those who joined us for four fantastic days of pony show jumping. The event served as a perfect showcase for some of the finest talent the UK and Ireland has to offer.

“Scotland’s Rural College offers a wide range of Equine, Veterinary Nursing and Animal Management courses and I would encourage anyone interested in finding out more to visit www.sruc.ac.uk/study.”
