Well done to our colleagues from SRUC who raised nearly £3000 in memory of Andy Drysdale.
In June last year we lost our friend and colleague Andy Drysdale at the age of just 49. A team from SRUC, Andy’s All-stars, ran the Edinburgh Marathon Relay in his memory on Sunday 27 May 2018 raising money for Cardiac Risk in the Young (C-R-Y). Andy worked as Project Development Executive within SAC Consulting and had been with the organisation for 14 years.
Andy’s All-stars, comprising of Lizzie Lundy (HR), Ashley Robinson (HR), Kata Tar (Transformation Team) and Lesley Greer (Ex IS) , all had different running abilities and trained hard for the big day. Sadly one of the team Ross fell and broke his ankle with just 2 weeks to go so Kata stepped (or jogged) in at the last minute! Lizzie, Lesley, Kata and Ashley got round in a great time of 4hrs 28 minutes and thoroughly enjoyed the day.Andy Drysdale
Lizzie Lundy said; “I signed up to the team relay a couple of days after Andy passed away on 16 June last year and set about putting a team together, it didn’t take long. Andy always encouraged me with my lunch time running and used to say-keep on running so that was our strap line for training and the big day. So we’ve been training for nearly a year.
The support has been amazing and really kept us all going during the run. It was such an enjoyable day. On behalf of the team and Andy’s family, I would like to thank all our supporters. At the moment we are at £2800 which we are thrilled with.”
