SRUC has been awarded the European Foundation for Quality Management (EFQM) ‘Committed to Excellence’ award by Quality Scotland, following a rigorous validation day on 31 May.
The organisation’s journey towards the award began at the end of last year when the Executive Leadership Team (ELT) decided to use the EFQM model as a holistic tool for assessing how effective we are in developing and delivering a stakeholder focused strategy.
We have been using the model to guide the delivery of three key projects:
- Clearly articulate and publish the SRUC Strategy 2018 – 2023 – you will have seen this through the new Engage site and the ELT and guest blogs
- Engage the Wider Leadership Team in the dissemination of the SRUC strategy – your WLT member will have been sharing and discussing the strategic direction with you
- Finalise and agree a corporate balanced scorecard that aligns to the strategy- using divisional business plans and Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) that will be reported to the board on a half-yearly basis.
Wayne Powell, Principal and Chief Executive said; “This is a great achievement for our organisation and we are proud to receive this after so much hard work has been delivered by the team here. Thanks and congratulations to all those who have been involved in pursuing and achieving this award but everyone in the entire organisation should be proud to be part of this. It’s a great seal of approval for all the hard work delivered throughout SRUC.”
The award will be collected at the Scottish Awards for Business Excellence on Thursday 21 June.
