Craig Trewern a former hospitality student from the Elmwood Campus of SRUC recently took part in one of the areas’ largest and most well attended flower, food and drink festivals in Dundee.
Craig, from St Andrews, was a Higher National Diploma student who completed his hospitality course earlier in the year.
Craig took to the stage on Saturday at the Dundee Flower and Food Festival held at Camperdown Park. The student was sponsored and supported by Scotland’s Natural Larder to celebrate The Quality of Scotland’s excellent game; where he demonstrated a fantastic pheasant and lentil dish.
Craig said: “I felt very nervous as I would be sharing the stage with such prestigious names in the food industry, as Nick Nairn, MasterChef winner, Gary Maclean and Tony Singh MBE. Once on stage I forgot my nerves and I received some fantastic and encouraging comments on my demonstration and thoroughly enjoyed the experience.”
Vicki Munro, Programme Leader for Hospitality at SRUC Elmwood campus said: “Craig has always been a fantastic ambassador for our department and we are all so proud of him.”
