The popular Beechgrove Garden television show has been filming at Elmwood Golf Course recently as part of their roadshow series.

The programme, which will be broadcast next month highlights the greenkeeping and horticultural courses at the Elmwood Campus of Scotland’s Rural College and also showcases the market town of Cupar.

Beechgrove presenter, Carole Baxter was a former student at Elmwood and studied Amenity Horticulture through Day Release in 1981.

Carole said she enjoyed reminiscing while being back in the area and had fond memories of her time at college.

“I travelled from Aberdeen every week to Elmwood as I had the opportunity to fit study around my work. The lecturers were fantastic and you can’t beat the ‘hands on’.”

Carole worked as a gardener and caretaker in Aberdeen, before taking on the post of the behind the scenes gardener at the Beechgrove Garden in 1983. In 1988 Carole was promoted to Head Gardener and her presenting career began. Carole has now been a regular on the popular gardening programme for over 30 years.

The show will be broadcast on Thursday 14 September on BBC 2 at 7 pm and BBC Network on Sunday 17 September.
