SAC Consulting has strengthened its commitment to the dairy sector by appointing Csaba Adamik as Senior Dairy Consultant bringing with him a wealth of experience in the Scottish dairy industry.

Csaba will lead Dairy Consultancy within SAC Consulting - managing both the specialist Dairy Services Team and overseeing delivery from staff based in rural offices.

He will also lead and co-ordinate the activities of the SRUC Dairy Academy - involving staff from SRUC’s education, research and consulting divisions - to maximise opportunities in the sector.

Originally from Hungary, Csaba brings particular skills in dairy advice – nutrition, costings and strategic planning. His previous post was with Cargill Animal Nutrition, covering Scotland and the north of England.

Csaba said: “In my new role, I am hoping to bring global knowledge, experience and expertise to our Scottish dairy producers - to create value for their businesses and make a difference on a local level.

“These are challenging times when the landscape of agriculture and the livestock sector is being rapidly transformed.

“These challenges can only be overcome if we are together being more competitive, more efficient, better prepared, flexible and opened to change.”

Iain Riddell, Principal Consultant and Regional Manager at SAC Consulting, said: “We see this as a significant appointment that will help us grow our dairy consultancy business and raise the profile of dairy provision within SRUC. Csaba will work closely with Dr Lorna MacPherson who was also recently hired as a Dairy Consultant.

“Dairy farmers have been through some tough times and our objective is to support them and their businesses through the challenges that lie ahead by providing a first class dairy consultancy service.

“Our new approach will involve joined up dairy service delivery from dairy specialists and selected local office staff specialising in dairy work, plus input from vets and other SRUC dairy staff in research and education. Our aim is to give dairy farmers access to the best person for each job depending on their requirements.”
