Four SRUC students will be Curling for Great Britain at the 2015 Winter Universiade (World University Winter Games) in Granada, Spain next week.
The Curling gets underway in Spain on Wednesday 4 February with Agriculture graduate Kyle Smith, and Agriculture student Thomas Muirhead, on the Men’s Curling Team, both from the Edinburgh campus; and on the Ladies team are Sustainable Environmental Management student Laura Ritchie, and Activity Tourism Management graduate Hazel Smith, both at the Ayr campus.
SRUCSA (SRUC Students Association) is delighted to contribute funding to all four competitors, with SRUC Trust being able to top-up the remaining funding for Laura Ritchie from Lanarkshire who was shortlisted for the 2012 Winter Youth Olympic Games.
They will join 2,500 participants from over 50 countries across the two host countries of Slovakia and Spain; with Team GB also represented in snowboard cross, alpine skiing, cross country and figure skating.
Keep up-to-date with their results at the BUCS website.
