We also work closely with our network of Associates across SRUC and SAC Consulting who are specialists in a range of topics including the CAP, agricultural productivity and innovation, environmental issues - including biodiversity, ecosystem services, high nature value farming and rewilding and the reintroduction of species - climate change and low carbon and food and drink.
The RPC’s core activities include undertaking research projects and producing research reports, writing research and policy briefings, organising and facilitating events and writing commentaries and blogs. We undertake a range of horizon-scanning activities to ensure our work is informing current and future policy discussions. We have often worked in partnership with other individuals and organisations to produce our policy-relevant outputs.
Recent work has included research work for the Scottish Government on informing the development of a Rural Parliament in Scotland, facilitating workshops at recent Scottish LEADER Conferences, and undertaking work to inform LEADER Local Development Strategies for a number of LEADER Local Action Groups.
