Course: Higher National Diploma (HND), Agriculture
Campus: North of Scotland College of Agriculture, Aberdeen
The opportunity I had along with a fellow student to spend a summer working on a mixed farm in Alberta Canada as an exchange student with the IAEA (International Agricultural Exchange Association).
The HND course helped me unlock my lifelong passion for "making deserts productive" through agricultural irrigation.
Been up to:
Following the HND in agriculture, I obtained a Post-Graduate Diploma from the National College of Agricultural Engineering in Silsoe Beds, (now part of Cranfield University), then I worked for an irrigation equipment manufacturer in Lincs for 3 years. This position led to an opportunity to emigrate to Washington State, USA, where I have worked as a Sales & Design Engineer in agricultural irrigation ever since.
Words of wisdom:
Be of service to others in a field that you find enjoyable.
Planning a return visit to Scotland in 2017, and would like to know of any opportunities to re-connect with classmates.
