Campus: SRUC Ayr (formerly Auchincruive)
Graduated: 1999

Siobhan Docherty (Mackey) attended SAC from 1997 and studied an HND in Rural Recreation and Tourism. She later went on to study a degree in Leisure Management.

After graduating Siobhan walked into a job flying as cabin crew, and for the past 11 years has flown with Qantas all over the world.

Her keen eye and globetrotting experience revealed a gap in Glasgow’s market and a need for a men’s store that covered all the bases of lifestyle: clothing, accessories, books, art supplies and homeware.

Siobhan and her husband opened their first store in November 2006, and now 10 years later “Fat Buddha” is located in Queen St and regarded as one of Glasgow’s best independent retailers.

But why stop there? Siobhan now has an 18 month old son. Her determination to get fit led her to a German concept called Fit Dank Baby, and Siobhan decided to take on the franchise for the Glasgow area.

“Time is something I am short of, and that’s the way I like it.”
