Scotland's Rural College delivers comprehensive skills, education and business support for Scotland’s land-based industries, founded on world class and sector-leading research, education and consultancy.
SRUC’s Corporate Procurement Team supports the purchase of the goods, services and works required to support our business activities. SRUC employs circa. 1,500 staff, and operates from over 50 locations across Scotland and the North of England.
In line with the recommendations of the McClelland Report (2006) and the Diamond Report (2011), and Scottish Government recommended best practice, SRUC advertises contracts for the provision of goods, services and works through Public Contracts Scotland (PCS). SRUC’s use of PCS provides businesses of all sizes including micro, small and medium sized, the opportunity to compete for our business within an open, fair, sustainable and ethical environment.
In order to get up to date information on work being tendered, SRUC encourages all current and potential suppliers to register as a supplier on PCS. The following provides general procurement information to gain a better understanding of working within Scotland’s Higher Education and wider Public Sector.
To secure best value, the Procurement Team lets bespoke contracts and also makes use of framework agreements which have been tendered nationwide. The Procurement landscape in Scotland has 3 categories:
Scottish Government Procurement
Universities & Colleges Procurement
