China and Scotland Golf Project

Elmwood golf club house

Golf Education is an area that SRUC Elmwood specialises in and is already attracting world-wide recognition. It is a key area for international development work as well as a very popular choice for overseas students.

Elmwood campus has been involved in China over the past 10 years, and as a result of this project Elmwood has Chinese students studying courses in both China and in Scotland.

Assisted by R&A funding, Elmwood staff are working with their Chinese university partners to develop golf education for the Chinese golf industry.

All Golf programmes undertaken at Elmwood Campus lead to degree and master degree provision across the three main areas of the golf industry, Golf Course Management, Golf Facility Management and Professional Golf and Coaching.

The campus is only 9 miles from the world famous St Andrews Links, the 'Home of Golf', but to support this work the campus owns and manages a golf course facility, which is only two miles from the campus.

The facilities include an 18 hole golf course, driving range, short game practice area and a clubhouse with a full restaurant and bar service, and
all students studying at the Elmwood campus are encouraged to use this
facility to aid their studies and as an opportunity to relax on the weekends.
