Two RPC Associates, Cesar Revoredo-Giha and Andrew Barnes produced this report in conjuction withSRUC researcher Philip Leat and Andrew Walker from Scottish Government Rural Affairs and the Environment Analytical Services. This document was produced with the intention to contribute to the Scottish Dairy Review which was announced by the Rural Affairs Secretary Richard Lochhead on 21 November 2012.
It focuses on two separate aspects of the Review. Firstly the relative efficiency of dairy producers and secondly the UK trends in the consumption of major dairy products. It draws on research undertaken by SRUC in recent years and a special analysis of Farm Accounts scheme data for 2010/11 carried out by RESAS.
