In February 2012, SAC and the James Hutton Institute hosted a conference discussing the future of Scottish agriculture after 2013 CAP reform. The aim of the conference was to raise awareness of the issues being discussed in the CAP reform process and to present alternative ways that Scottish agriculture may be able to adapt to the proposed 2013 reforms while remaining productive and profitable.
This briefing discusses the results of a three-stage opinion poll that was carried out with conference participants at the start, middle and end of the conference. The poll asked respondents about their understanding of CAP reform and their level of optimism about the future of Scottish agriculture.
