Our Team and Projects
Cath has worked in industry and farm management research for over 25 years and has particular interests in the economics of animal health, farmer decision making, profitable farming systems, externalities and sustainability.
Lorna joined the team in 2014 and has a background in livestock farming and animal health planning.
Current and Recent Projects
- Improving the uptake of best practice in animal health and welfare: Part of the Scottish Government Strategic Research Programme 2016-2021
- BUG Consortium –‘Building upon the genome’ is a collaborative multi-institute project funded by BBSRC. It is developing genetic markers of anthelmintic resistance and seeking to reduce its development.
- FLAG - Improving control of liver fluke in cattle. Farm level modelling of fluke infection and its economic impact. BBSRC funded.
- In 2017 we were the local hosts for the 21st International Farm Management Congress in Edinburgh, organised in association with the Institute of Agricultural Management
