Horticulture and Plantsmanship

Horticulture is a diverse and dynamic industry that encompasses the commercial production of fruit, vegetables, flowers and ornamental plants, and also the design, establishment, and maintenance of our parks and gardens, leisure and sports grounds, open spaces and managed landscapes.

It is a profession which offers a diversity of jobs to suit a wide range of talents. The profession also needs researchers, technologists, marketing experts and managers to shape the industry for the future.

SRUC offers both "Horticulture" and "Horticulture with Plantsmanship" courses, the latter being delivered in partnership with the Royal Botanic Garden Edinburgh, allowing you to benefit from the considerable resources and expertise of both organisations.
