Sustainability is a word used so often today; but what does it really mean?
Key to understanding how we can improve our sustainability is an understanding of energy. Energy drives our lives. From concentrating energy into food through growing crops, to further concentrating that crop into biofuel, or dissipating that energy through driving to work and heating our homes, we need to better understand all aspects of energy flow.
If you choose to study Green Technology or Renewables & Environmental Technology you will discover how we can apply new technologies to improve our use of energy, reduce our waste of energy and concentrate energy back into high density forms such as electricity and heat.
We need talented graduates who understand how energy moves, how it sustains us and how we can make the best use of it. Renewables & Environmental Technology graduates will be well placed to devise smart solutions, exploit current and develop new technologies. This will reduce our reliance on fossil fuels, create a more sustainable economy and enable us to move towards a low carbon, greener economy.
The course BSc/BSc (Hons) Renewables & Environmental Technology was formerly known as the BSc/BSc (Hons) Green Technology.
