What is a Wigwam?
Wigwams are sturdy insulated wooden camping cabins large enough to stand in, with removable sleeping platforms - easily accommodating 4-5 people.
Absolutely great fun!
What do they come with?
The wigwams are comfortably equipped with foam mattresses and electricity for light, heating and personal electrical equipment. Bring your own sleeping bags etc, though linen can be hired.
Each wigwam has its own car park, picnic bench and campfire.
- Fully equipped large kitchens (pans, crockery and cutlery included).
- Large dining / TV lounge area.
- Showers and toilets with disabled facilities.
The farm shop has all the necessities plus local food and supplies, logs or charcoal, our own lamb and beef along with Scottish wild boar, ostrich and venison. There is also a pets corner for the children.
Super deluxe lodges
These come with their own kitchenette, bedroom, shower room and toilet. Sleeps up to 6.
There are lots of walks for all abilities. Woods, waterfalls and streams are all available on your doorstep. Fishing permits are also available.
How to get to us
Strathfillan Wigwams are situated on SRUC's working Hill and Mountain Research Farm. They are located on the A82, 3 miles north of Crianlarich.
The wigwams are surrounded by spectacular views and within easy reach of a number of Munro mountains (Ben Lui, Ben More, Ben Dorain) and are thirty minutes south of the Glencoe Ski-Centre.
The site is adjacent to the West Highland Way.
Tyndrum and Crianlarich villages are each 2 miles from the farm site. There are a number of restaurants, pubs, shops, railway stations and taxis.
