A Wee Natural Gallery was designed to inspire today’s young people to realise the wonder of the natural world through plants & art features. The aim of this garden is to inspire people to think about how children could enjoy and learn natural words in gardens. To achieve this there are exciting and subliminal elements in the garden to inspire them and think creatively in symphony with nature.

Studies undertaken by Cambridge University highlighted how children from 8 to 11 years old are losing their vocabulary about the natural world; there are many words that they don’t know such as Adder, Bluebell, Bramble, Dandelion, and Daffodils.
Furthermore, the Oxford Junior Dictionary (OJD) removed 50 words related to the natural environment, replacing them with words that represent an increasingly solitary childhood. Some of these ‘lost’ words have been incorporated in to our garden.
