Selected research projects

  • Understanding the interactions between the barley pathogen Ramularia collo-cygni and its host. This work, funded by RESAS (work package 2.1.3), focusses on the role of the rubellin toxin, produced by the fungus, in the development of Ramularia leaf spot symptoms in barley
  • Developing sustainable management method for clubroot. This project funded by the AHDB investigates the feasibility of mapping the distribution of clubroot in commercial fields to implement specific control method where they are required
  • Soil Health Partnership project. This work funded by AHDB aims at assessing soil biology and health in relation to different management regimes by using microbial population as an indicator of soil health in different soils
