Frequently Asked Questions: SRUC Repository

Click a question to reveal the answer.

Q: If I put my work into the SRUC Repository, can I still publish it or use it elsewhere?

Answer:

Yes, as stated in the deposit licence agreement, placing your work in the repository does not transfer any rights – you retain your existing rights to your work.

We would recommend choosing a journal which allows deposit in an institutional repository. Most publishers allow deposit of your paper however there are variations on when and what format can be deposited. The SHERPA/RoMEO database is a useful resource for checking details of publisher policies on self-archiving and copyright.
