Q: JOHNE'S: How long should I leave between TB testing and testing for Johne’s?

Answer:

There is an interaction between the skin test for TB and the blood test for Johne’s disease. Animals that have been tested for TB by the skin test are more likely to test positive for Johne’s disease if they are blood tested in the three months following the TB test. Avoid confusion by ensuring that the Johne’s herd test is not carried out within three months following a TB test.
