As part of the Scottish Canine Cancer Registry feasibility project, a two day veterinary CPD event has been organised in Inverness in September 2019.

With internationally recognised experts in canine oncology, the event will look at the pathology and epidemiology of canine cancers, as well as medical, surgical and radiotherapy treatments available.

Aberdeen open day dog agility picConfirmed speakers include Prof David Argyle, Dean of Veterinary Medicine at The Royal (Dick) School of Veterinary Studies and Prof Joanna Morris, Professor of Veterinary Oncology at the University of Glasgow.

The event is aimed at vets in practice and those with an interest in canine oncology, and will take place at SRUC in Inverness on the 13th and 14th of September.  The registration fee for the event is £50, which includes a networking dinner on the evening of the 13th.

The Scottish Canine Cancer Registry feasibility project is a collaboration between researchers, vets and pathologists located in the Scottish Highlands.  The project aims to explore the practical and legal implications of developing a canine cancer registry for Scotland, in order to understand more about how different cancers affect dogs.  It is supported by Highlands and Islands Enterprise, via the Collaborative Challenge Fund for the Inverness Campus.

In addition to the CPD event in September we are looking for Scottish veterinary practices to get involved with the project. To get more information, to register for the seminar, or to find out how your practice can get involved, visit project page or contact Madeleine Henry.
